2011 Brands & Bloggers #BBSummit11 Recap

Welcome to 2011 Brands & Bloggers #BBsummit11

I work in Marketing so attending events such as conferences, workshops, etc. is essential in order to keep up with industry trends. I am extremely selective about the events that I attend. Any conference that I attend must meet the following criteria:

1.) Provide an opportunity to meet new people/catch up with colleagues

2.) Further my education on the topic of the conference

Unfortunately, point #2 seems to be a difficult one to achieve for many conferences (got to love the irony!). I am happy to report that this weekend I had the pleasure of attending one of the BEST conferences that I have been to in a long time called the Brands & Bloggers Summit (BBSummit11)!

Just as the name indicates, this conference was centered on providing the opportunity to bring brands and bloggers together so we can determine the best course of actions to take in order to work with each other. It is amazing to be in a room full of folks (well over 100 bloggers were in attendance) who get “it.” It is incredibly comforting and empowering to be around people who are passionate about blogging and brands that understand the importance of connecting with us.

Every session was led by knowledgeable speakers and packed with information that appealed to seasoned as well as newbie bloggers. I enjoyed the time I was able to network with other bloggers ( a special shout out to @mommypalooza because I’m switching from Sprint to Verizon based on our conversation)  as well as the opportunity to be introduced to new brands such as FlatOutBread, Peace Spa Products, etc.

As if the fun I had at BBSummit11 wasn’t enough, I was able to attend the after party at the John Hancock Observatory. I haven’t been to the Observatory since I was a kid! I’m so happy that I had the chance to create new memories while I was there by getting another opportunity to speak with bloggers I missed talking to at the conference. Words cannot begin to express how much fun I had and how much great information was shared at this event. BBSummit was a complete success (it sold out) and I can’t wait to attend next year. Major thanks to MJ Tam and all of the individuals that were responsible for not only creating and executing such an amazing event, but for providing me the kick I needed to get to take my blogs (TargetStars and StarChiLife) to the next level.

See you next year!

Disclosure: I received a complimentary ticket to attend this event. I was not compensated or asked to review this event. I’m sharing this event with you because it was ridiculously informative and FUN. I want to make sure you know about this event so you can’t say I didn’t tell you!
